I have implemented Xerox DocuShare for a customer and it has been a huge benefit to their business. They even have a secure online version that you could use. In my case, we built an onsite server and installed the software in house. It would require a decent small business server and time build and configure the system. I would plan on about a $10K four to six week project to get it in place properly.
